Looking forward to Posidonia 2022

We took some time to talk to RightShip Head of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Andrew Roberts, as he looks forward to attending this year’s Posidonia in Athens.

RightShip: Thank you taking some time out for us, we want to get your views on this year’s event. What does Posidonia mean to you?

Andrew: Since 1969, Posidonia has taken place every two years, bringing together key stakeholders from across the shipping value chain to interact and collaborate as a premier event in the shipping calendar, and a key event that RightShip attend in Europe.

As the world moves forward after COVID-19, Posidonia 2022 presents a fresh and welcome opportunity for the shipping community to reconvene and strategize on actions required to solve the pressing safety, sustainability and social challenges facing the industry and engage on other topical matters.

So why are RightShip attending this year’s Posidonia?

The Greek shipping community is an integral part of global maritime trade, and we are proud to support the impressive number of customers and stakeholders we have in Greece. Posidonia is an opportunity to be highly visible and open with our customers and the community; to listen and reflect; to meet, engage, share ideas and best practices and learn from each other.

As a leading maritime due diligence organisation, it is critical we are part of Posidonia, so we have the opportunity to discuss key topics on maritime colleagues' minds. It also gives us a chance to engage with like-minded organisations and individuals who aspire to a zero-harm maritime industry.

And finally, it is just a fantastic opportunity to meet old and new friends and colleagues again.

Who is attending from RightShip?

In addition to myself, other RightShip colleagues attending include:

  • Bryher Bailey, Key Account Manager
  • Gurpreet Singh, Chief Commercial Officer
  • Tatyana Taylor, Key Account Manager
  • Taner Umac, EMEA Operations Manager

Between us we are happy to discuss anything RightShip and maritime-related, from our Environmental focused solutions, including the GHG rating and Carbon Accounting tool, to our new ports and terminals-orientated Maritime Emissions Portal. With regards to the ‘S’ of ESG, we believe our Crew Welfare Assessment offers an important step towards ‘Social’ management at sea.

And of course, we always welcome the opportunity to talk about our Governance-related solutions such as our Safety Score, vessel vetting and inspections.

If anyone attending the exhibition would like to come and talk to us we would be delighted to see them – please drop by our stand or arrange an appointment as we explain below.

Who are you especially looking forward to meeting in Athens?

I am looking forward to engaging with Greek shipowners, managers and organisations again.

It is also the perfect opportunity to meet those who support and enable the global maritime community, such as Class Societies, Flag States and those from ports and terminals.

RightShip have been supporting the maritime industry for over 20 years now, and we are driven by our vision of a zero-harm maritime industry. Our team really welcome the opportunity to talk to industry colleagues around our main focus areas of decarbonisation, crew welfare and safety.
