Between 27 June and 1 July 2022, the UN Ocean Conference was held in Lisbon, Portugal, highlighting solutions aimed at starting a new chapter of global ocean action. We’re proud to be part of that movement too, thanks to an approach from the World Ocean Council (WOC) earlier this year.
The WOC is a global ‘blue economy’ business and investment organisation designed to encourage corporate ocean responsibility. With high profile members from Orange to Stena, as well as organisations including the Nautical Institute and North American Marine Environment Protection Association, the WOC is an organisation with real clout to clean up.
Our film, made by Special Interest Films, is broadcasted and distributed by Reuters Plus, via their global digital platforms and tailored newsletters to World Ocean Council subscribers. It will also be hosted on the Ocean Titans hub alongside editorial curated content from UN officials, ministers, academics, Non-Government Organisations, global experts and other socially minded organisations who want to share a message of collaboration and positivity when it comes to solving the world’s climate crisis.

We’re also supporting our customers to meet government and industry emission reduction targets and decarbonisation and air quality initiatives, through our GHG rating, Carbon Accounting tool and Maritime Emissions Portal.
Our Safety Score, vettings and inspection services highlight the incredible importance of good safety practices on board and support the industry to keep striving for excellence.
Finally, our Code of Conduct and Crew Welfare Assessment demonstrate the ambition woven through everything we do - that each seafarer should return home safely from their voyages, thanks to well-managed working environments that consider the health and wellbeing of every crew member.
We’ve seen an increasing demand for transparency and for data to be verifiable, so the maritime industry can be sure it is taking the right steps towards a safe, sustainable and socially conscious future. Those insights, those truths, can all be found with us, and thanks to being measured and collated by our teams of experts, can now be managed too.
