RightShip appoints new Head of APAC in recognition of continued focus on key shipping region

Former Managing Director of Liberian Flag Registry, Sau Weng Tang, joins RightShip to spearhead regional engagement at pivotal time for shipping standards

RightShip, the world’s leading maritime risk management and environmental assessment organisation, has today announced the appointment of Sau Weng Tang as its new Head of Asia-Pacific (APAC) customer engagement. The development demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to building closer relationships with customers and other important shipping partners in the maritime industry’s fastest growing region.

Sau Weng, who will be based in Singapore, joins RightShip from his previous role as Managing Director of the Liberian Flag Registry, a position he has held since January 2018.

Sau Weng’s 25-year long maritime career has seen him hold a wide variety of technical, leadership and consultancy roles in the APAC region. His previous posts include directors role at Marsh and Willis Insurance Brokers, responsible for its marine practice in the region. A trained naval architect, Sau Weng also held various roles at leading classification society, Lloyd’s Register, including a period in a leadership role in its Asian consultancy arm.

As Head of APAC, Sau Weng will be responsible for steering all of RightShip’s APAC customer engagement, with a focus on leading regional customer engagement and providing best-in-class solutions for customers across the region.
