On the 17th of April we announced that RightShip would be implementing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on 30th June 2023.
Below you will find details on what will happen from that day and frequently asked questions.
What is MFA and why are you are you activating this? Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security measure that adds an additional layer of authentication to your login and password. This helps protect your account from unauthorized access, even if your password is compromised. We guard RightShip’s data, ratings, and intellectual property with the strongest possible security, and our customers’ personal data is no different. Multi-Factor Authentication is the gold standard for account security, and that’s why we’re introducing it on all accounts from 30th of June 2023. From this date, all RightShip users will be required to set up multi-factor authentication when logging into the RightShip platform, using either an authenticator app or a designated phone number. |
What will happen when I try to log on from the 30th June if I have not had MFA activated yet? Once you enter your email and password, you will be prompted to add an additional verification method. This adds an additional layer of security to your account. Users can do this in two ways:

How long will this take to set up? It should no more than a few minutes to add your additional verification method. |
Will the phone number currently saved in my account be the phone number used as the second step to verify my login? Not automatically. When you set up MFA, you will be asked to provide a phone number or link your account to an authenticator app. |
How do I change my verification method after I have set it up? If your phone number changes or if you want to switch from verifying through a phone number to verifying via an authenticator app or vice versa, you can change this by pressing on the Reset MFA Enrolment button, under the My account section inside the RightShip Platform. Please find the step-by-step guide here: Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) access to the Platform | RightShip Help Center |
I am trying to log on to my RightShip account, but I no longer have access to the device that the phone number or authenticator app is associated with. What can I do? To reset your MFA settings, please contact your key account manager or contact us here. |
I already log on to the RightShip platform using Single Sign-On (SSO). Will Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) be applied to my account? Will I need to set additional steps to log on? No. MFA is only for those accounts that do not use Single Sign-On. |
I believe my company will have issues with MFA. Can you help? If you foresee any issues with MFA, please contact your key account manager or contact us here, so that we can discuss alternative arrangements. |
