The Challenge

The Costs of Slow Vessel Clearance

Delays that put fixtures at risk Vessel vetting through conventional channels can take days, delaying fixtures and putting time-sensitive deals at risk.
Inconsistent decisions across teams Without a standardised clearance framework, the same vessel can be assessed differently by different teams, creating risk, friction, and inefficiency.
Blind spots in maritime risk compliance Keeping track of vessel certifications, trading restrictions, and compliance across a high volume of nominations is demanding and error-prone.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly does Trade Check return a result?

The moment you submit a vessel, Trade Check runs automatically against your configured rule set and returns a pass or fail with no manual processing.

Can Trade Check handle both dry bulk and tanker nominations? Yes. Trade Check has separate rule catalogues for dry bulk and tanker criteria. You can select the relevant criteria for your chartering activity when configuring your rule set.
Where can I view my requested vessel screening results?

After you submit the screening request on Rightship’s platform, you will see a processing screen, where your result will be made available once the data processing and calculation are completed.

You will also receive an email notification once the screening result is ready. This will be set up by your Account Manager at RightShip.

What happens when a vessel screening requires an exception?

An Exception Required screening will be escalated to your internal risk department for review.  Once they have made an internal decision, you will be notified via both the platform screening result page and an email notification.

What information is included in a screening result? Each screening result provides a structured breakdown of the vessel’s compliance and risk status, including rule outcomes and the underlying screening criteria that informed the decision.

This includes key indicators such as the vessel’s Safety Score, GHG Rating, and Crew Welfare assessment, along with relevant compliance and sanctions screening signals. Together, these provide users with a clear, actionable decision output that can be used immediately within commercial and chartering workflows.
