Tarun Mehrotra trained as a marine engineer in India and started his career in the South Korean shipyards with Det Norske Veritas (DNV) as a surveyor for new construction of ships. He soon progressed to a project manager role, overseeing offshore ship builds.
Later, he moved on to commercial roles with Jardine Matheson, DNV and Lloyd’s Register in Singapore and Dubai where he worked in regional business development function.
Throughout his career, Tarun has been involved in the adoption of novel maritime technologies including Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs), Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) bunkering, additive manufacturing, Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNGs) by scaling advisory and assurance services to meet the evolving needs. His commercial mindset and a keen drive for collaboration has led him to take several solutions to market.
Tarun joins RightShip after his most recent role with the venture-building firm Rainmaking, located in Singapore, where he was responsible for scaling the open innovation platform and working with global start-ups to bridge gaps in areas including decarbonisation and supply chain resilience.
With experience in strategy, partnership and business development, Tarun leads RightShip’s strategic change, conceptualisation and works to build our future-focused growth roadmap. He also leads the dedicated partnership function aimed at driving ecosystem collaboration for RightShip.
