Our vetting process has a key role in supply chain operations, helping our due diligence customers eliminate the non-compliant options from their logistic chain and personal marine assurance profile, in turn ensuring cargo is moved safely. Terminal operators use RightShip’s vetting service to encourage safer vessels to enter their terminal and record a full audit trail to substantiate decision making.
RightShip’s vetting service is underpinned by our comprehensive data sets that highlight a vessel’s full history including the DOC Holder's profile, terminal reports, casualty history, Port State Control inspection performance, class records, market intelligence and inspection reports (RightShip inspection for dry vessels, SIRE for wet vessels). Once a vessel has loaded at a terminal that subscribes to RightShip, feedback from the terminal staff is recorded against the vessel for future reference, ensuring that non-commercial performance information is readily available to all RightShip users.
Vessel Vetting

Vessel Vetting
Global standard for safety, environmental and social welfare practices
Peace of mind to know that your due diligence is being carried out to our comprehensive global, industry recognised standard. All vessels are checked against the RightShip standard, which represents the minimum requirements for a RightShip recommendation. This includes the latest regulations, sanctions, government and port state control banned lists, abandonment cases and safety and sustainability best practices. The uniform standard is consistently revised in line with international policy and regulation changes to ensure our vetting service meets requirements globally.
Terminal Feedback reports submitted online
Terminal feedback, including dry berth or tanker terminal feedback reports, can be submitted to RightShip after a vessel has called at the port. The information in these reports provides RightShip with an operational history of the vessel, which is considered when assessing the suitability of the vessel in future vets. RightShip will pursue any issues or negative feedback with the vessel operators until a satisfactory close-out has been received.
Terminal questionnaires
Terminal Questionnaires (TQ) are offered as part of your ship scheduling and nomination process. They are fully automated and digitised by RightShip. Check a vessel’s suitability by requesting information specific to their mooring configuration, loading and deballasting rates and helicopter suitability prior to berthing. All information is uploaded and checked through the RightShip Platform by our experienced vetting staff.
