While the maritime industry has made great strides in terms of setting regulations, RightShip has observed the market moving faster than regulations as the need to meet the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) targets and reduce total annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least 50 per cent by 2050 compared to 2008 becomes increasingly urgent.

However, as IMO targets are not deemed sufficiently stringent to meet the Paris goals of keeping global warming below 1.5C by a large segment of the industry, progressive initiatives steer towards zero emissions by 2050.

GHG Emissions Summary: The summary home page provides our customers with an overview of their submitted data, which can be viewed on a quarterly or annually basis and includes GHG Rating spread, total emissions and emission intensity metrics. We’ve also built comprehensive data filters, breaking the numbers down by different cargo types, vessels and suppliers. Based on customer feedback, we’ve also provided customers with the ability to filter by their own bespoke requirements to provide flexible and meaningful reporting.

Another key development for the GHG Emissions Summary reporting tool is the use of data visualisations and automatically generated insights. These allow users to easily track their emissions over time and informs the user which specific areas of their business are responsible for producing the highest proportion of their carbon emissions.

Voyage Records: The Voyage Records report is the customers’ main database, housing all the voyage data uploaded during a company’s subscription history. We’ve broken the data down by each voyage record, which contains information clearly displayed by voyage ID and granular details for each leg (ballast or laden). By allowing users to filter by vessel type, port, emissions totals, intensity performance and more, they can assess specific voyages and start making meaningful changes in their operations to reduce carbon emissions.

Emission Intensity: RightShip recognises that understanding vessel operational performance is necessary to drive industry emissions down and meet emissions reduction targets. Depending on your data requirements, the Emissions Intensity report allows you to filter your quarterly or annual emissions reporting by EEOI, AER or Emission Intensity.

Accessibility is at the heart of RightShip’s platform developments; therefore, we have created a set of easy-to-read graphs which profile selected vessel performances, aligning with the Sea Cargo Charter methodology, and highlight the highest and lowest average intensity vessels you have chartered.
