Senior Copywriter

The Senior Copywriter will provide content for our internal and external communications.  You will be responsible for creating content for press releases, media articles, product launches, google adverts, landing pages, blog content, webinars, and scripts. This includes working with staff to create accurate, engaging and clear content that meets the needs of internal and external customers. 

Major Responsibilities  

Copywriting

  • Hands-on copywriting and content creation including editing and proofreading
  • Adapt your writing format to both digital and print
  • Regular technical writing (product guides, guides, internal documents, proposals)
  • Create both short and long-form texts, within print and digital media, adding value to marketing, brand and communication outcomes
  • Develop ideas and creativity to deliver engaging content to our audience

External Communications

  • Working with the marketing team to provide concise thorough leadership and comms strategy across Environmental, Social and Governance issues
  • Writing content for external communications, including press releases, blog content, articles in the media and quotes for company spokespeople, webinars, scripts and helping with power point presentations at maritime conferences
  • Working with our external PR Agency to develop strategic messaging, briefing documents and proofing articles before publishing
  • Write content for marketing, including content for the website, product pages, landing pages, google adverts, customers pages, sales packs, advertising copy, newsletters

Internal Communications

  • Supporting the company through internal communications, working with HR, Marketing and the Leadership Team
  • Work with the operations and products teams to produce white papers, data insights, lessons learned and other resources which the industry can use to increase standards in safety, sustainability and social welfare
  • Liaise with the marketing team and help support metrics around increasing the number of people signing up to our newsletter, social media channels and webinar series.

 Desired Skills and Experience

  • Maritime knowledge is preferable
  • Previous work creating content and copy is a must
  • Digital sales copy experience
  • Work with speed, unafraid to ask for additional support from the team, take edits and criticism of work well 
  • A clear, concise written style
  • Ability to switch tone and ghost write for others
  • Fantastic attention to detail 
  • Relaxed interview style (we interview people across the industry for our blogs as well as internally)
  • Ability to clearly and simply explain complicated concepts
