Job Details

The Ports and Terminals Manager is responsible for spearheading all of RightShip’s focus, growth and engagement across the EMEA region and where required, supporting the business in other regions within the ports, terminals and shoreside infrastructure arena.
The position reports to the Head of EMEA and is based out of the London Office however will support the business across other regions where required.


Major Responsibilities

Be the organisational focal point on Ports, Terminals and Shore facilities for RightShip in the EMEA Region.


  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Shoreside maritime infrastructure arena including but not limited to global port operating companies, port authorities, ports, terminals, refineries, pilotage organisations, flag states/ recognised organisations, port focus groups etc and improve RightShip’s image and position as a ‘force for good’.
  • Marketing RightShip’s offering by industry conference speaking, events and other networking opportunities including at key fora focussed on port and maritime operation.
  • Expand RightShip presence and influence in the region by marketing to existing and new customers.


  • Identify strategic opportunities to grow RightShips business across current and future product areas applicable for ports and terminals.
  • Drive growth of the business in customer numbers and revenue.
  • Explore opportunities to provide scale to RightShip.
  • Interact with current and prospective customers to relay the product’s value and benefits while gathering direct feedback.


  • Work with Key Industry Stakeholders on developing and driving standards in the ports and terminal space linking back to RightShip’s core purpose, products and services, or areas where RightShip can drive influential impact as a ‘Force for Good’.
  • Engage in training and educating Ports, Terminals, Refineries etc in industry safety standards and insights from RightShip’s business.
  • Work as part of the RightShip Global Commercial Team including as part of process and initiatives teams on projects.
  • Work closely with the Key Account Managers and Business Development Manager ensuring management of new business opportunities and customer contracts.
  • Work closely with internal product teams to feedback customer comments, industry sentiments and opportunities for improvement on current products and potential opportunities for future product developments.
  • Support the business in other areas as required and instructed by the Head of EMEA.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience within the marine industry, preferrably with a seagoing background and strong experience in the shoreside ports and infrastructure arena.
  • Independent self starter able to identify unmet needs and growth opportunities and develop into opportunities.
  • Extensive experience in generating new business and achieving revenue growth, within the Maritime Industry. 
  • Preferrably strong existing connections within the port and terminal space preferable but ability to forge new relationships and credibility quickly and effectively.
  • A personal commitment to improved safety and environmental sustainability of the maritime industry.
  • Able to maintain strong corporate relationships remotely whilst travelling internationally to engage with clients.
  • Confident in public environments and able to deliver presentations and demonstrations with confidence in high pressure environments.
  • Comfortable with significant amounts of travel.
