RightShip is looking for an exceptional Data Warehouse developer to join our team. He/she will help the organisation continue to build world class data driven products to solve some of the most challenging problems in the maritime industry by maintaining and improving quality across critical data sets.

As part of a Business Intelligence team, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining Data Warehouse solution to address business needs for internal and external customers. You will play a significant role in supporting RightShip to leverage data as an asset to ensure data can be used to inform key decisions and deliver value to RightShip and its Customers.


Major Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise in Data Warehouse design and architecture
  • Develop, maintain, and grow a centralised data warehouse to build Business Intelligence and data including reporting within Microsoft ecosystem
  • Ensure that data produced and provided is complete, accurate, valid and relevant using system validation and exception / control reports and is consistent with regulation and internal policies
  • Provide expertise in data modelling, data architecture, data quality management, profiling, cataloguing and data lineage concepts and implementation
  • Work with Azure cloud computing services, such as SQL Databases, Data Functions, and Data Factory 
  • Acquire, ingest, and process data from multiple sources and systems into our data platforms
  • Provide required inputs to the Business Intelligence team while developing new products and reports
  • Owning the business-as-usual operations of the data warehouse to ensure smooth running of all ETL jobs and other integrations

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent disciplines 
  • Conversant with dimensional modelling techniques, and familiarity with an established DWH development framework such as Kimball's Architecture.
  • An awareness of the fundamental differences between 3NF OLTP schemas and star/snow-flake OLAP models.
  • Advanced knowledge of declarative and procedural SQL and a capacity to understand query plans and optimise accordingly.
  • Ability to work with structured and semi-structured data sets. Familiarity with NoSQL platforms is an advantage 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Data Stack e.g. Azure Data Factory and Data Lake
  • Understanding of Power BI modelling
  • Experience in consuming and aggregating data from multiple sources, APIs is beneficial
  • Familiarity with version control and related workflows, specifically Git.
  • Capability for building enterprise-quality, productionable solutions.
  • Adept at working with cross-functional groups across multiple cultural, geographical and time zone boundaries
